Open Processing : Session 1

 The Open Processing:

This week is something new. We learned about digital art created from code javascript. We started by signing in open processor website which is used for creating art from code javascript and P5js.

We started by looking at the basics of javascript and how basically it works on the logic of maths and graphs to create art. as soon as we opened the code there was already one base code written with an ellipse that can work we had a trail on that we had a lecture on how it works and we played around with it a little bit. After that, we learned a bit about the graph and how it is different in computers. Then we had to make a triangle on our own we started from the line then made our way through the triangle. How many points does it have on X-axis and Y-axis?. Things like that. we got to learn so many commands.

like color fill, stroke, random, lerp,

We also learned how to animate stuff by commands in which we can add pixels related to time. We got to learn about if commands for animation. We got to learn how framerate can make difference in animation. All the basics of creating art.

The next day we started by learning about the video process and how that works in coding. That was the most interesting session for me because we learned about live recording Videos how to make them work. How to add effects to them via coding. We learned how to add effects and blending modes. how to make them understand alpha channel to react in a certain way. It was very satisfying to look at and play around with those effects. After a while later we looked at texts. How to add any type of text and motion graphics to it. It was also a pretty easy process. We then learn how to add images to the thing. Then we added texts to images and animated them and tweaked it a little bit.

The next day we learned about audios and art which reacts to audio buttons which can start the audios. Sliders can alter the volume of the audio. Panning of audio through left and right sides of the headset.

Then for the final project, I had to go through a series of failed projects because it was hard for it to render it in real-time as it was a website after all. I tried so many things with video blending modes and effects and multiple of them. I was adding more than two videos in one canvas which was having issues like rendering and the website stopped responding. So I had to work with something simpler and easy to render so I picked a code that we previously used alter it and add a push and pop of squares so it shows both of them as particles interaction with live video and also added a blending mode with music to it. I was a little dissatisfied with the website because I wanted to do something much more complicated but this one was not too bad.
