Photoshop Rotoscopy final Piece ( Move with a feeling )

Image
Moving with a feeling  This was the final task of this week. In this task, we were supposed to shoot some videos to use as a reference for our rotoscoping projects in photoshop. We shot a few videos of people walking, playing tennis, And me jumping though I was not clear about the selection of clips and particular parts of clips. which I am supposed to use. so I imported and checked the bits of videos that would work. However, only 1 shot of me jumping gave me ideas. So I started working with that. This time I did not have to set up photoshop because I saved my program named animation in photoshop which opened directly and had everything in there including timeline, brushes swatches, etc . then I imported the video by creating a new timeline. Created a new video layer and started working. Just after the selection and all cutting cropping of video I started tracing myself. It was and always has been a tedious process to do rotoscopy. Hopefully, I was working on  15 fps and it looked n

Rotoscopy in Photoshop

ROTOSCOPY IN PHOTOSHOP In this week we learned about rotoscopy in  photoshop  . Its an animation that describes the process of creating animated sequences by tracing over live action footage frame by frame. though it is a time-consuming process it gives the animation a life-like and a  feel and touch of originality.  As our first task was easy we just had to trace a moving buggy in a city with our imagination. and we were allowed to use brushes and swatches time line and video was provided.   I started by setting up the photoshop same as i did in previous animation projects. This time we leaned about cutting the videos and making jump cuts first and then learned to increase or decrease the speed of video . As i brought the video in timeline by creating a layer and then pressing + option . I played around with jump cuts , scissor tools, presets of  photoshop like morph cut and dissolve for smooth cut between the frames. I started my main project by just cutting the footage and increasin

Walking in the Dreamland

WALKING IN DREAMLAND ( PHOTOSHOP ANIMATION )   In this task we were asked to animate a walk cycle on our own. we get to decide what our character would be how it looked like and how to animate it so it can make sense. As i have decided to do something challenging compared to last walk cycle. I choose the 4 legged animal dog . As soon as I was searching the walk cycle for the same it looked easy to animate a walking dog. so i founded a reference image of something in between walking and trotting dog .  I saved the image and opened the photoshop and started setting up the document. with 300 ppi and 16 into 7 cm draft of animation. thereafter enabled the options like timeline brushers swatches brush settings etc. basically what we did in previous project. Then started working by importing the reference image and making layers for different body parts such as tail , head , body and four legs. As it was a running moment i had to animate it in the gap of 2 frames. As soon as i was done with

Walk Cycle Photoshop Animation

Image
The Walk cycle Animation The task was to animate a walk cycle in photoshop. The reference image was provided and  whole written tutorial. we used reference image. We started by setting up the photoshop for animation by enabling option of timeline brushes swatches etc. then we imported the image. and set up the environment . after that started by making a rough character on the first contact pose. After sketching the whole character in different layers. we applied the puppet warp tool and made the layers smart object. The logic was to apply puppet tool to all different moving objects of character like both hands , legs , body and head . Then we duplicated the layers and arranged it on canvas at the gap of 3 frames. This was animated at 24 Frames per second. There after I Animated the character as per the reference by basically tracing and match making the moments from it .at the gat of 3 frames. As it gives a very smooth animation. Once the walk cycle is done. I made another layer and

The Bouncing Ball Animation (Photoshop)

Image
The Bouncing Ball Animation  This is a bouncing ball animation done in adobe photoshop. Firstly we added timeline, brushes and  swatches to our workspace. then imported the reference image for frame to frame animation.  This was animated at 10 frames per second . By completing this task we got to learn crucial areas of animation like Arc , Squash and stretch , timing and spacing and volume . We got to use and basically understand the timeline and keyframing concept which we will use for future. then we exported it in two different files one GIF and other Mp4. As mentioned that we used a guide to copy the poses and matching the time . that was very useful because of that it looks natural and not absurd  My Animation

The Sound Session

Adobe audition is a digital audio workstation featuring both multitrack non destructive editing environment and wave form destructive environment. We were given a task to record sounds around the university in an audio kit and make a 1 minute sound piece conveying the story. It was really a fun activity . adobe audition has a very intuitive interface which is very easy to use and we can edit out audio track in both of those environments to get the maximum desirable outcomes . As we were working on projects it kept going easy . The sound fade ins and fade outs were automatic by just overlapping the sound on tracks. As it has multitrack function . we can keep ambiance or repeating sound different from the

Interactive PDF Designing

Image
The Adobe indesign has a Feature for pdf designing named interactive pdf . We can add a splash of interactivity to make it look more engaging . The versatilty of PDf  format allows you to create documents that contain interactivity including movies, hyperlinks, bookmarks , page transition and buttons. We were Asked to make a interactive PDF for our portfolio with buttons like Home , last page , the buttons which directly led us to the works of respective software . if we look at the final Product its very closer to website. some of the files like videos can be embedded on the layout .  (My Homepage) The best part according to me was animation. we can animate texts and titles according to some preset given by the adobe which is pretty rare because websites generally do not have animation and if it does it is kind of static. but this has presets of some amazing smooth animations.

The Park Bench : A Short Film

Image
The chance encounter at park bench was the task of last week. We had to make a project on park bench . we got lucky to use all the industry level and professional equipments for this project . As the reference for this film was movie Gattaca shot in 1967 we were supposed to incorporate some of the camera angles which we successfully did . I was playing the role of director in this project. we had a basic story board ready on the very first day. with little bit of scripts as it was a project with less dialouges we did not spend our times on script. We also wrote sypnosis and treatment for this project. so we had our basic idea of how the film industry works. we learn something by not doing them and some other things by doing them incorrectly.  We edited the movie using Adobe premiere pro and audition as we used combination of both it was comparatively easy to get the work. we Faced a problem in audio . it was not recorded at enough range so we had to improvise using the camera sound an
